More about Ori at the beach

Ori is a little Israeli boy. Today, he is going to the beach, and he invites us to discover what he loves doing there. From page to page, we join him at the simple and  magical world of the Israeli beach, with the beach bats, the watermelon, but also the spade and bucket, the seashells…and all this in two languages at the same time.

Ori at the beach is not just another book about the sea. Thisbilingual book is a fantastic way to present a foreign language to childrenthrough the simple pleasure of reading about a world they love: the beach.

Ori at the beach is:

-          aimed at children aged 18 months and up – a cardboard book, with round corners, easy for toddlers and young children to leaf through; with big font making it easier for children learning to read.

-          a book to play with: you can read it from both sides, according to the language, but also each page separately, depending on the choice of the reading child.

-         an educative book, based on classical picture books (one word/one picture) but enlarged, diversified, enriched: each page is built by combining an original, colorful and lively drawing, a short sentence in Hebrew and English (or French), depicting a situation at the beach (Ori looking for fish, Ori eating watermelon etc.). On each page, a word is emphasized and transliterated into Hebrew or Latin letters, in order to help people who can’t read Hebrew to pronounce it correctly.

Who may be interested by Ori at the beach?

-          anyone who whishes to expose children at an early age to a foreign language;

-          English speakers living in Israel and raising their children (or grand-children) in a bilingual environment;

-          English-speaking tourists visiting Israel this summer with their young children: let them learn some basic Hebrew to get along at the beach!
